Fields of counseling
Psychosocial counseling
Psychosocial counseling is aimed at people who, in relation to a current and concrete problem and over a clearly defined period of time, want to be supported in helping themselves. Our counselors accompany people in problem, decision and crisis situations in the development of their own and concrete solution steps. Supportive discussions often focus on strengthening the self-esteem, self-confidence and emotional stabilization of those seeking help.
Long-term care counseling
We also offer advice and support in the context of our social counseling for challenges related to questions about care needs. Be it difficulties with authorities, e.g. applying for a care level or rehabilitation measures, dealing with unclear notices or appeals when applications are rejected. It is not easy to deal with the bureaucratic processes in the context of care in difficult life situations all by yourself. We are happy to help you with this.
Pflegeberatung
Counseling topics
Basically, all topics are welcome. The focal points of our psychosocial counseling work are:
Grief, old age, loneliness
We accompany you in difficult phases of life, in times of mourning and farewell, in crises of meaning and loneliness. The RuT is an important contact point for women* who are looking for social support or assistance in dealing with aging. Our counselors help those seeking advice who have lost an important person or are in a crisis of meaning and feel listless and overwhelmed with the situation. In addition to individual counseling, we also offer a regular grief group.
Disability, illness
We support women* and their relatives in dealing with illness and its consequences or with the challenges of physical disability. We help to find solutions around coping with everyday life and to find the right measures and contact points.
Partnership, relationship, separation
We offer couple and partnership counseling for women in relationships of various kinds: relationships between two, polyamorous relationships, affairs, life-loves; relationship with mother, father, grandparents, colleagues, business partners, ex-lovers, neighbors, sisters, friends. As we cannot accept all couples counseling requests, we would like to make couples and relationship counseling particularly accessible to couples in precarious life situations with a low income.
Coming Out, Sexuality, Identity
Feeling lesbian, bisexual, asexual, non-binary, queer, pan or trans is a challenge at any age. When one’s sexual orientation does not fit the popular norm, self-doubt, anxiety, and experiences of discrimination are commonplace. In addition to individual counseling, we also offer a regular coming-out group 40+.
Decisions, life planning
Change processes are an enormous challenge. When we move towards something new – regardless of whether we initiated the change ourselves or whether external circumstances triggered it – we simultaneously move away from something. This process is sensitive and often accompanied by resistance, fear of loss and fear of the future. We accompany you in change and decision-making processes, help to explore possibilities for action and solutions, and in the development of a new vision.
